Partners 307: "Toronto Blessing” , Missions Seminar, Meditation Prayer, Rock Church

“Toronto Blessing” Meetings at Founders Inn, Virginia Beach, Feb 20-23, 2008: Free in the evenings. These are the meetings where people of all denominations have been experiencing the healing Presence of the Father’s love for 12 years. In my 20 years as a pastor in several denominations, I have not seen better spiritual results in people after attending meetings connected with this group out of Toronto, Canada. Not everyone is touched in the same way, but for some—like me—the Lord can change your life in these meetings. Millions of people around the world would agree with that. Day sessions require registration and a fee. Evenings are free and start at 7 Pm with worship. Tonight, Gordon Robertson, CEO of CBN, is speaking. Thursday night, Pastor Bill Johnson will preach. He leads a church iin California where the congregation goes into the streets each week to pray over the sick. Many are healed and many come to Jesus as a result! Missions Seminar: Saturday, March 8th: This is a one-day missions mobilization seminar led by Jerry Smith from AIMS entitled "Harvest Connection." It will go from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM and will cost $25/person; including lunch and workbook (discounts are available for students and couples). This seminar will be like a "mini-Perspectives" course (biblical basis of missions, current trends, focus on 10/40 Window and "unreached" peoples, what God is doing in the world, etc.) and will give practical ideas for involvement. Hope Marriage Project: Couples can receive free couples counseling in exchange for participating in research. The MMATE Center at Regent University is conducting a clinical trial study to investigate the effects of the Hope approach to couples counseling. End Times Solved: Every time God revealed Himself in the Bible, no one expected Him to come that specific way--even when they had scriptures to guide them about event. Few, if any, Jews expected a Messiah like Jesus, for instance. God loves to surprise us! Why would God end all of human history according to our limited understanding of what He will do? Beware of over-explaining what God has to do before He returns. "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matt 24:14)" That much is true. Let's concentrate on making that happen before more people leave earth to enter eternity without Jesus.

Partners 305: Missions Forum/Training,Toronto Conference, Free Organ, Disaster Tips

Missions Forum: For over 19 years a group of people from local churches called 7M has met weekly to promote global missions and serve missionaries in any way they can. They meet each Monday morning from 7-8:30 AM at Shoney's Restaurant, across the street from Founders Inn in Virginia Beach. This coming Monday, January 14 - Myra O'Reilly will be leaving for the missions field this month and will tell us about it. Also, Rev. D.B. Martin, pastor of South Norfolk Baptist Church, will talk about his work in India. And Joan and Chuck Dewing will be with us from Malta. January 21 - Roy Olson, missionary to Romania, will speak.
