Transethnic Transitions: How to be a relevant church in a multi-cultural world --- is a strategic conference May 15-17, in Virginia Beach, VA at New Life Providence Church. Pastor Dan Backens of New Life Providence and two other seasoned pastors from outside Virginia will teach, equip and inspire church leaders about how their church can be a relevant, multi-cultural church in a rapidly changing global world.
For almost ten years, New Life Providence has been pursuing a vision to be a healthy multi-ethnic church that cherishes ethnic and cultural diversity but also transcends such differences through a common bond of faith in Jesus Christ. It has been a remarkable adventure week after week as they have learned to love one another, listen to different perspectives, participate in new cultural experiences and join together in eclectic worship. The other two speakers have had similar church experiences. This conference draws on their collective experience and vision in a work of reconciliation that is prophetic for the larger church. This conference will give participants a chance to see how to move from a theology of ethnic reconciliation and church diversity to a healthy practice of it. Simple put this conference will help churches "walk the talk" more effectively! The conference is free of charge and New Life Providence is committed to making this a first-rate event to serve our community and beyond. Click here to get more details. 3 Things The Devil Most Fears:
- Christians or churches who pray for the lost ( Matt 9:38, Col. 4:3). How often does it really happen?
- Christians who talk about God with non-believers. Only we know how to get them to heaven. Otherwise, hell awaits them---forever. They have no other hope.
- Churches who win children to the Lord. They are the easiest people on earth to win--and they have their whole lives before them to serve God.
